Q. I am an external group. Can I hold an event in the Berg Hall Conference Center at Li Ka Shing Center for Learning and Knowledge?
A. In order to host an event on campus, there must be a Stanford “Sponsor.” Sponsors include a Stanford University academic department, school or institution; a registered and approved student group within the university as approved by the Student Activities and Leadership; a non-academic department recognized by the President's Office, such as Athletics; or The Associated Students of Stanford University (ASSU). Q. Does Li Ka Shing Center for Learning and Knowledge have a catering service?
A. Yes, Catering at LKSC is the sole catering provider to the Li Ka Shing building and Berg Hall Conference Center. We are a university department within Stanford Hospitality, a division of Residential Dining & Enterprises (R&DE). Our kitchen is conveniently located within the Li Ka Shing Center for Learning and Knowledge.
Q. How does Catering at LKSC promote sustainability?
A. R&DE is a leader of sustainability efforts on campus. Stanford Hospitality has partnered with Sustainable Stanford to ensure that our catering not only meets but exceeds Cardinal Green standards. We guide best practices towards water conservation, minimizing resources and waste, and using local resources for food and services.
Q. What services are included in the catering contract?
A. First, our team delves into your event, program purpose and audience. We can then support you best with planning meals, decor and executing the contracted services with our dedicated staff. Catering contracts include food, beverage, AV equipment, linens, china, glassware, flowers/decor, and attendants/ staffing for catering set up, service and breakdown.
Q. How do I start planning an event?
A. Step one of event planning is confirming a location with the Li Ka Shing building to accommodate your event. Once you have booked an appropriate space, please reach out to us with your location and we will begin the planning process.
