Calendar for Organizational Performance Excellence Sessions

This year’s schedule of topics will focus on “Organizational Performance Excellence” and will be offered on the 2nd Wednesday every month, 9:30 am-11:00 am via Zoom beginning on February 19th.

During this session, participants will share how they practice Dr. Everett’s 2025 R&DE Strategic Goals— “Cultivating Operational Excellence through Embracing Change and Employing Innovative Strategies.”

III 04/09Why is Critical Thinking an Essential Success Skill? 7 Ways to Develop Critical Thinking Skills as a Manager

The core management skills of critical thinking is the ability to think about problems through a multi-perspective and objective lens to develop sound and practical solutions. During this session, participants will learn 7 ways to develop critical thinking skills to achieve operational, and people excellence decisions that support R&DE’s Vision, “To Be the Best in the Business.”

IV 05/14Managing the Collective Bargaining Agreement and Role-modeling Union and Management Relationships

Consistent interpretation and practice of key CBA paragraphs will be discussed as well as developing and sustaining respectful manager and union steward relationships.

V 06/11The Revolution of 21st Century Performance Evaluations and Meaningful Feedback by Applying a “Growth Mindset.”

This session covers Stanford and R&DE’s Performance Evaluation Standards and Process and Giving Meaningful Feedback by Applying a “Growth-mindset.”

Join this session to learn about Stanford’s compensation philosophy and policy highlights plus a review of R&DE’s payroll administration standards and process.

VII 08/13Talent Acquisition: R&DE Recruitment and Selection Standards and Process and Highlights of Skills-base Hiring— A Paradigm Shift

R&DE HR Talent Acquisition team will review the recruitment and selection standards and process and the partnership with managers. Focus will be on ways to optimize employee experience.

VIII 09/24Performance Management: Coaching, Investigations, and Stanford’s Progressive Disciplinary Process

R&DE HRBPs will host a panel to discuss performance management concepts and mapping of performance coaching and Stanford’s progressive disciplinary process.

IX 10/15Managerial Fundamentals of Budgeting and Accounting and Fiscal Responsibility

This session will focus on the fundamentals of operational finances and budgeting. And a discussion on “fiscally responsible” managerial behaviors.

X 11/12Workers Compensation and Disability Leave Management Policy and Procedures

This session focuses on Workers’ Compensation and Disability & Leave Management Policies/Procedures and Legal Requirements.
