To students, faculty, and staff,

I would like to begin by expressing gratitude to those currently on the front lines fighting the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak. During this extraordinary time, our focus is on the health and well-being of our students, the dedicated staff at Residential & Dining Enterprises (R&DE) Stanford Hospitality & Auxiliaries and the greater university community.

Taking into account the fluid demands as the situation evolves, I would like to update you on the measures R&DE is taking to maintain essential services to Stanford students while also following the CDC-recommended guidelines.

We have proactively implemented enhanced cleaning, disinfecting and safety procedures and additional protocols in all of our retail cafés, catering spaces, concessions venues and at The Stanford Guest House. The University continues to collaborate with external and internal subject matter experts on ensuring that all possible precautions are being taken to manage the spread of COVID-19. In addition, our staff receive daily reminders and training about the steps they must take as well.

While we continue to work to provide high quality food and service the university community has come to expect, we do so with adjustments to our schedule and locations that acknowledges the reduced campus population while supporting social distancing protocols. We invite Stanford students, faculty and staff to purchase take-out meals from the Axe & Palm and groceries, grab-and-go meals and sundries from the Munger Market. In addition, the following modifications have been made:

  • The Stanford Guest House is closed to visitors, however First Responders are invited to check for room availability at https://rde.stanford.edu/hospitality/stanford-guest-house
  • We continue to provide catering services on a limited basis for essential meet needs on campus; we welcome inquiries regarding future event space and catering services.  To contact our catering and event services team, please visit: https://rde.stanford.edu/hospitality/catering
  • Stanford Concessions locations are closed in response to the restrictions places by the county on large gatherings until further notice
