Health, Safety and Sustainability
Support – The Health, Safety and Sustainability team manages six programs that support our operations: Access and Security, Emergency Preparedness, Fleet and Property Administration, Occupational Health and Safety, Sustainability and Utilities, and Technical Training and Development. This team is comprised of subject matter experts in each area.
Access and Security
The CARE officer program provides security support and increased building security inspections to all R&DE residences and dining halls.
MCP takes a leading role in preparing for a variety of emergency situations. In addition to annual University-wide exercises, we conduct planning and preparedness sessions for situations such as earthquakes, fires, floods, extended utility outages, public health and active threats.
Rally Point Exercise
One important initiative of the R&DE Emergency Preparedness group are regularly held Rally Point Exercises. participants from across the organization are invited and trained on how to activate, distribute and use emergency supplies stored strategically around campus in case of an emergency.
Among many useful items, current supplies include ready-to-eat meals (MREs), water, tents, cots, blankets, flashlights, walkie-talkies, megaphones and radios.
Fleet and Property Administration
Our fleet and property administration maintains R&DE’s varied range of vehicles. With a deep commitment to sustainability and attention to detail, they oversee the acquisition, allocation and upkeep of our trucks, cars, vans, carts and other specialized vehicles.
