Students came out in record numbers to partake in a breakfast bounty and engage with senior university leaders, including President Marc Tessier-Lavigne and Provost Persis Drell. Residential & Dining Enterprises’(R&DE’s) 2023 Midnight Breakfast took place on Monday, March 13, 2023, from 11:30 p.m.- 1 a.m. and was attended by more than 5,200 students, exceeding last year’s tally of 4,300 students. 

Students enthusiastically welcomed a touring group of university leaders that included: President Marc Tessier-Lavigne, Provost Persis Drell, Senior Associate Vice Provost for R&DE and Senior Advisor to the Provost on Equity and Inclusion Dr. Shirley Everett, Director of Athletics Bernard Muir, Associate Dean of Students Darrell Green, ASSU Executive President Darrvl Thompson, ASSU Executive Vice President Christian Sanchez.

The Stanford Dining, Hospitality and Auxiliary team pulled out all the stops in preparing and providing a hearty meal. Undergraduate and graduate students were served delicious breakfast menu items including, omelets, tater tots, pancakes, pastries, fruit, juice and more as they geared up for their final exams. The event took place simultaneously at several dining locations, including AFDC, where the theme was a Superheroes breakfast, EVGR Dining/Pub’s “Avatar” breakfast, Munger’s “Back to the Future” breakfast, The Axe and Palm’s Beach Party breakfast, and Lakeside’s Nightclubbreakfast. Music and a dance party were part of the fun festivities. 

Midnight Breakfast was made possible through the exceptional partnership between Student Affairs, R&DE, ResEd, the GLO staff, and ASSU leadership, and staff members and leaders who volunteered to serve.
