Overview

Escondido Village Graduate Residences (EVGR), which opened in 2020, is Stanford’s newest on-campus residential community. EVGR is comprised of four 10-story residential buildings, with wings ranging from 6 to 10 stories high. The design reflects the distinct style and attributes of many of Stanford’s most beloved buildings.

EVGR’s apartments provide on-campus homes for single graduate students and couples without children. Apartments include premium two-bedroom, two-bath apartments with shared living rooms and kitchens, junior two-bedroom, two-bath units with shared kitchens and premium studios. Couples are assigned to premium studios and a limited number of two-bedroom apartments. Single graduate students are assigned to all options and most have a private bedroom and bathroom.

This year, a limited number of premium two-bedroom, two-bath apartments will be offered as reduced-rate triple occupancy apartments, with one bedroom and bath assigned to one student and the other bedroom and bath assigned as a shared double occupancy room to two single students.

At the center of EVGR is a common area with exercise and wellness rooms, music practice rooms, a children’s playroom and more. With so much to offer, EVGR is destined to become the heart of graduate student life on campus.

Sustainability

In support of the university’s zero-waste goals, these residences are equipped with a multi-stream collection system: organics; paper recycling; cardboard recycling; plastics, metals and glass recycling; and landfill. Sorting waste increases its reuse value. We encourage students to participate in this and other Cardinal Green practices.
