Building Access and Safety

  • Always: Keep residence doors closed and locked.
  • Report suspicious activity:

  • Card Access Tips: Report lost cards, never share access, and avoid tailgating.
  • Visitor Access: Only let in known visitor; don't allow tailgaters.
  • Spouse/Partner Access: Apply for a Spouse/Partner courtesy card with proof of relationship.

Personalizing Your Space

Decor

  • Use painter’s tape or, on tackboards, pushpins.
  • Do not use adhesives (e.g., duct tape, mounting putty, or glue).

Power

University-Provided Furniture

  • Additional storage or furniture is not available.
  • You may store university-provided furniture off campus at your own expense.
  • Return all items in good condition before move-out.

Balconies

  • Keep balconies clear of clutter.
  • Allowed storage units must be under 42 inches tall, lockable, and chew-resistant.

Outdoor Equipment

  • No hot tubs or pools.
  • Use barbecues at ground level only.

Bed Lofting and Configuration

Availability: Stanford-provided loft kits are available first-come, first-served via your Housing Service Center.

  • Use two guardrails for lofted/bunked beds.
  • You’re responsible for safe assembly.
  • R&DE staff inspect setups during autumn quarter and winter break.
