Position Summary

Student Marketing & Production Specialists are paid student positions. Each intern is expected to become familiar with all marketing activities conducted by R&DE Strategic Communications to be successful in this role.  Marketing Specialists work directly with the communications team to help with events and activities designed to generate revenue, build bridges with other departments, groups and university entities, foster respectful, two-way communications, and work towards the creation of a culture of excellence within R&DE.

Essential Job Functions

  • Maintain high level of professionalism at all times and comply with appropriate dress code
  • Assist the team in production, delivery and installation of marketing materials such as fliers, signage, posters, tent cards, etc.; maintain accurate inventory levels of production supplies.
  • Support the team in coordination and various liaison work and communications with retail and dining managers on specific marketing projects and promotions.
  • Assist with various marketing projects involving market research, advertising, promotions, email marketing, marketing event planning, coordination, collateral production and other revenue-generating initiatives  
  • Execute merchandise and visual presentation standards to maximize sales, and provide creative feedback on various collateral as part of the “brainstorming” team
  • Provide marketing administrative support: press clippings, marketing files, mailing lists, marketing invoices
  • Assist in growing and maintaining email lists and follow up special promotions associated with these lists.
  • Assist the communications team in all other support needs and marketing activities within R&DE.

Qualifications

  • Must be current undergraduate or graduate student.
  • Highly motivated individual who has an interest in or is studying: Marketing, Business, Design.
  • Strong written and verbal communications (including copy editing and proofreading ability).
  • Self-motivated and charismatic.
  • Friendly, sociable and outgoing.
  • Great multi-tasker.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Adobe Creative Suite a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Marketing experience a plus.

Hours:  M-F flexible hours (no more than 10 hours of work per week)

Salary:  $15.05-$15.50/hour, DOE
