Support Services

The Support Services team maintains and advances the technology needs of R&DE and offers three core support areas: Helpdesk & Desktop, Point of Sale & Internet of Things, and Audio Visual Technology.

R&DE IT provides continuous support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year which gives the organization access to IT staff when they need it. Normal business hours are from 8AM to 5PM. After normal business hours, our team will escalate requests to the designated R&DE IT manager for oversight, prioritization, and resolution.

For urgent or after hour support, please call (650) 724-5550 and LEAVE A MESSAGE describing the technical issue and provide your name and call back information.

.

Portfolio & Project Management

The Project Management Office is available to assist you with reviewing and implementing the technology you’re considering. Please start by submitting a Technology Opportunity Request (TOR). Your submission will be routed to your Executive Director for approval, prioritized in relation to other R&DE IT projects, and reviewed by IT Governance at which time you will be contacted to discuss next steps.

.

Enterprise Applications

The Enterprise Applications team turns innovative ideas from staff and the higher education community into quick tangible software solutions and provides feasibility assessments with proof-of-concepts that serve students and staff members. This team monitors technology trends and evaluates how R&DE can take advantage of new and emerging technologies to improve the student experience and staff productivity.

Information Security & Privacy

The Information Security Office protects the organization’s data and ensures compliance while improving the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems and encouraging stakeholder engagement, accountability, and awareness with cybersecurity and privacy initiatives. This team regularly monitors vulnerabilities and threats, performs audits of systems for security and compliance, conducts security and privacy assessments for new products, and continually reviews our security posture.

Enterprise Infrastructure

The Enterprise Infrastructure team provides reliable and secure server / storage environments while aiming to deliver a positive end-user experience. This team interfaces with vendors, campus university partners, and business owners to ensure new and existing systems are kept secured, updated, and accessible.

IT Governance

IT Governance is a cross-functional R&DE committee that is responsible for ensuring that the investment of technology resources and assets are aligned with the overall strategic objectives of the organization while continuing to foster innovation in a fiscally responsible manner.
