Highlights of the Conference Center

Paul Brest Hall consists of large flexible meeting rooms that can accommodate groups of 80 to 400, as well as the spacious Rehnquist Courtyard for outdoor receptions and dinners. Adjacent to Paul Brest Hall, the S. Mark Taper Conference Center has multiple meeting rooms.

We happily partner with on-campus services whenever possible and manage vendors and services for you, including tent builds, furniture rentals, AV/tech installations, floral design, themed décor and event flow with a perfectly paired menu to match.

Q.  How do I book space in Paul Brest Hall or the S. Mark Taper Conference Center?

A.  Simply fill out this Munger Catering & Events Inquiry form and an event manager will be in touch regarding availability and to begin the proposal process.

Q.  I am an external group. Can I hold an event in Paul Brest Hall & the S. Mark Taper Conference Center?

A.  To host an event on campus, there must be a Stanford sponsor.  Sponsors must be a Stanford University academic department, school or institution, a registered and approved student group within the university as approved by the Student Activities and Leadership, a non-academic department recognized by the President's Office, such as Athletics, or the Associated Students of Stanford University (ASSU).  For more details, please visit the Office of Special Events and Protocols.

Q.  Do Paul Brest Hall & the S. Mark Taper Conference Center offer a catering service?

A. Yes, Munger Catering & Events is the sole catering provider to the Munger complex, Paul Brest Hall and the S. Mark Taper Conference Center, a division of Stanford Dining, Hospitality & Auxiliaries. Our kitchen is conveniently located in Munger Building 4. 

Q.  How does Catering at Munger promote sustainability?

A. R&DE is a leader of sustainability efforts on campus. Stanford Dining, Hospitality & Auxiliaries has partnered with Sustainable Stanford to insure that our catering not only meets but exceeds Cardinal Green standards. We emphasize best practices in water conservation, minimizing resources and waste, and using local resources for food and services.

Q.  What services are included in the contract? 

A. Catering contracts include food, beverage, AV equipment, linens, china, glassware, flowers/decor, and staffing for catering set up/service/breakdown. We will also coordinate with any outside rental companies to ensure your event runs smoothly. Our dedicated team carefully considers your event, program purpose and audience so as to design the best meal plan, decor and contracting support. 

Q.  How do I get started planning an event? 

A. To book a space, fill out this Munger Catering & Events Inquiry form. Once you have booked an appropriate space, kindly let us know so we can begin the planning process.

 

Policies

Munger Catering is the exclusive caterer at Paul Brest Hall and the S. Mark Taper Conference Center. No outside catering is allowed at the Munger facility.

Reservations for Paul Brest Hall and the S. Mark Taper Conference Center can be booked up to a year in advance.

PAYMENT OPTIONS:

  • If paying by University PTA, the 16% service fee and 5% admin fee applies.
  • If paying by Hospital/Clinic Cost Center, ASSU account (student account) or Hospital/Clinic P-Card, an 18% service fee and 5% admin fee applies plus California sales tax.
  • If paying by an External University PTAE with Awards beginning with (AR, AS, or AT) a 20% service fee and 5% admin fee plus California sales tax applies.
  • If paying by Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, or bank/wire transfer a 20% service fee and 5% admin fee plus California sales tax applies.
  • Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, and bank/wire transfers will be processed through Cardinal Pay per university compliance.
  • Checks, money orders, and the like are not accepted methods of payment.
