Give & Go Donation Program

Give & Go Move Out

Alpaca your stuff at move out this year and sort everything you no longer need to be given to those in need in hundreds of Goodwill barrels or trailers near your residence from June 7-20, 2018. Sort everything else you don’t need to be recycled at your waste corral and don’t forget to return your dishes to the Dining Hall. Live Cardinal Green and “give” as you move out and “go” on to your next adventure!

Get Ready to "Give & Go"

Save time while helping the local community and reducing waste! R&DE Student Housing has partnered with Goodwill to make it easy for you to "Give" your unwanted clothing and household items that are in good condition to others who can use them as you move out and "Go" on to your next adventure!

The items you drop off at one of over 100 convenient barrels or trailers in or near your residence will serve hundreds of local people in need through Goodwill while reducing waste sent to the landfill. Find out what you can donate here. Leave your larger items (mattresses, furniture, mini-fridges, etc.) next to your donation barrel. Your gently used furniture and mini-fridge will go to freshmen in the fall and your mattress will be recycled. Borrow a dolly at your Housing Front Desk for easy transport!

What can I do with batteries, hazardous waste and bikes?

Check out these Year-round Recycling Opportunities (items not accepted in Give & Go barrels/trailers):

Item

Collection Agent and Location

Batteries and Used Printer Cartridges

Residence Computer Clusters / Labs

Hazardous Household Waste (Cleaning Supplies, Paint and Oil)

These items must be taken to the Santa Clara County Household Hazardous Waste collection area in Sunnyvale. See website link below for more information or contact your housing front desk for assistance:

Bikes

Drop off unwanted bicycles at the Stanford Department of Public Safety (DPS). DPS may donate bikes to local non-profits, or sell them to departments and individuals with Stanford ID at their annual Bike Sales (which can be a great place to find a bike if you need one). Email PublicSafety@lists.stanford.edu or call 732-9633.
